Meetings
The P&C meets on the second Wednesday of the Month, during
school terms. Meetings are held in the Staff Common Room commencing
at 7.30pm. The School Principal provides a report at each meeting
on current school happenings and issues affecting the school and
students.
What does the P&C do?
The P&C is involved in fundraising through the P&C Contribution
and through activities such as sausage sizzles and trivia nights.
However, this is only part of the P&C's role.
The P&C is a group of parents committed to assisting the school
in providing a good learning environment so every student has the
opportunity to do their best. This involves:
- Feedback - talking to the Principal and Teachers about any issues
that are a concern for students
- Transport - lobbying for better bus services so that students
can get to school and get home without difficulty
- Student Welfare - for example, the P&C contributes to a
Better Attitudes Towards Health (BATH) day and Student Leadership
Programs
- School Facilities - the P&C has lobbied for improved buildings
and facilities that are now being provided under the government's
Building the Future initiative
- School Grounds - the P&C runs Working Bees every term to
improve the school grounds and provide a pleasant environment
- Uniform Shop - the P&C runs a uniform shop weekly making
it easier for parents to provide school uniforms for their daughters
at the best possible price
- Guest Speakers at P&C Meetings - guest speakers will be
presenting information of interest to parents at many of the 2004
P&C Meetings. Speakers will include; teachers from the Physical
Education, Science and Music/Visual arts faculties and the Police
School Liaison Officer from Gladesville Police Station. These
talks provide opportunities to find out about subject content,
how new technology is being used to further your child's educational
opportunities and about issues affecting young peoples lives.
Why not come along to P&C Meetings and see what is discussed
and have your say about issues affecting the school and your daughter's
education!
