Computing Technologies

The computer network at Riverside is an extensive one linking over 200 computers and 15 network printers across the school. Our, 1Gb fibre optic backboned network features a series of linked star networks incorporating 2 fileservers and 10 managed switches. We provide access to the Internet through a 10MB dedicated fibre optic broadband line .
In addition to the 3 computer labs dedicated to the TAS faculty we have:

1. A Technology Centre located in the library featuring a bank of 20 powerful computers, laser printers, scanners and a data show.
2. A Multimedia Centre which has another 2 computer rooms with a further 50 computers and a brand new multimedia room and studio is being set up in Term 1 2004 which will enable editing of movies.

Computer room 42 is currently also a video editing room.

Students are able to access the Internet from all computers around the school. Some computers are available before school and during lunch time. Seniors can use Library computers during study periods when they have not been booked for classes.
